I want to thank you for such an amazing 5 days. I realise that under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have managed to make it onto a cycle-high trip which is why I am especially grateful to your patience as I huff and puff up a Col (the 7 of 10 I made it up). Also, that I was a bit of a one man disaster zone with more punctures and breakdowns than anyone else all of which you dealt with quickly and so efficiently! Thank you for the fantastic experience, it was as Paul said “Perfect and memorable”

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip… It was great that the group worked together so well. My ride up Alpe d'Huez, along with some of the wetter times have been endlessly retold to anyone who will listen.
Another bonus is that from riding l'Etape and this trip I've raised just over £1000 for MacMillan cancer support. Thank you for one of the high spots of a very busy and challenging year!
Please thank Richard for the photography, superb support and all the driving which made everything run so smoothly.

Was a great few days spent with you and the guys. It’s been awful being back… how can you go from Alps to office in 24 hours! It’s just dull! Anyway, we’ll let the guys get over this one and then start planning the next!

Thank you for making our recent 5 days in the Alps such an incredible experience. We may not have been the most seasoned or even athletic of cyclists you will ever support, I can safely say that memories you have left us with, will live long with us. It is testament to how well you supported us that aside from the odd seat post breaking and beach “soap opera” episode, very little went wrong and the group have a long list of unbelievable memories to draw upon to keep us going until we are able to do something like this again. The support and service you provided was over and above that which you originally articulated to me all those months ago and clearly we couldn’t have done this without that support, leadership and guidance.
I would have no hesitation in recommending you to others or to ask you to lead another trip for us in the future (that is of course if you’re prepared put up with us!!)
Thank you once again for making our trip so perfect and memorable.

Thank you, I had a brilliant time. Like child birth the pain is a distant memory and I am now just savouring the good bits.

Hi Eddie and Tim,

How's things? I hope you are all well. Just a quick note to say that I (mega belatedly!!) posted you a USB stick with a selection of the best photos from our time in France in July, which both Pamela and I really enjoyed.

I can only thank you all for the support - I'm still amazed that I made it - particularly after stacking it on the first descent! Ian, I was so glad we had the same approach in trying to disassociate from the pain via our champion playlists and shouting at the mountain! And sorry to all about the white shorts - seemed a good idea at the time… …Finally, I arrived at City and jumped in a cab with a chatty driver, who asked the question always asked: 'been anywhere nice?'. I said yes, and that we had flown into Geneva and transfered to Beaufort then rode down to Nice over the weekend. 'Oooh', said the driver, 'you're a braver man than me. Did you hire a car to do it?'. He had clearly heard 'we drove to Nice'. When I cleared up that we had done it all on velocipedes, he was practically speachless. Very well done all - fantastic acheivement.

When asked in future "are you a cyclist?" I am going to reply "No. I ride a bike but I know 11 people who are cyclists". As the pain subsides I want to add my thanks. What a trip! The scenery, the people. Unforgettable and worth the effort. I apologise for my Tourettes like outburst at the top of the Col de Vars. Emotion got the better of me…
…thanks to Steve for the idea and particularly Dave and Tim Gray for their support…
But most of all to the look in peoples eyes at the end of Sunday knowing that they had taken on this tremendous challenge and given it their best. It was a pleasure to be in your company and to CYCLE with you.

Thanks to everyone for making it a fantastic experience over the last few days. This was my first alpine trip and I have arrived home wanting more! Training will start just as soon as I can physically put myself back on a bike - roll on February 2012.

Bon chance tout le monde - a la prochaine!

What a wonderful 3 days of pain and we paid for the privilege! Thanks to Steve for the gem of the idea and to Tim and David for making all the arrangements and looking after us all so well. Patience is something you both have plenty of! The massages were in great demand, the only drawback was getting back in time to get them done after all the incidents, trips to bike shops and changes of clothes.
Thanks again and I hope that we can do another challenge next year - 50,000 feet, 500 miles and 5 days!

No secret to my improvement - a 2-week boot camp (sorry, family holiday) in the Alps - but I was still whimpering like a baby at the top of that first climb, and every subsequent one. Thanks to everyone for making it a great trip though. Looking forward to the next one already!

Cheers,

Hi Eddie, …Still talking about the Alps ? We have not stopped, Great memories. As soon as we were home there were comments of where next ? So if you could put up with us again next August there may possibly be another trip…
