Route des Grandes Alpes route mapclimbing the Galibier Starting on the southern shores of Lake Geneva and ending up at Nice, this 'classic route' takes you over 17 iconic cols including 'La Colombière', 'L'Iseran', 'Le Galibier' and 'L'Izoard' all with breathtaking alpine scenery and some of the most dramatic vistas in Europe. Almost every col has featured in the 'Tour de France'. Good hotels, good food and total support all the way - just you and your bike and the high cols.  'La Route des Grandes Alpes' dates back to 1914 and the advent of the first motor tours. It has lost none of it's charm and follows minor roads wherever possible. Enjoy the gradual transition from Alpine to Mediterranean. A memorable route with 5 and 6 riding day options to suit different abilities.
